The calibration of the MAF sensor and its position on the MAF sensor on the factory intake tube is designed to measure velocity and mass of the air flowing through the factory tube. If the velocity of the air moving over the MAF sensor is outside of the parameters programmed into the ECU, whether too fast or too slow; it will cause a lean stumble, engine error code and poor throttle response. We shape our tubes and position the MAF sensor to increase flow to the throttle body or turbo inlet while managing the velocity past the MAF sensor to keep its signal range within factory limits. |
